We went to Nagano with our friends Ben and Alina, Abby and Oliver, for a few days before Christmas to get away and we hoped to ski and play in some snow. Unfortunately, there was only one day of snow and it rained the rest of the time. We did take advantage of a little bit of snow the first day and we stopped along side if the road, along the 1998 Olympic Ski Jump site and went for a slide and made a snowman. It was a warm day and the snow was wet but we at least gave it a shot. The kids had fun. My girls made their first big snowman. They did try to make a little one with dad last year but back then there was only a night fall of snow in Tokyo. We thought by coming up to Nagano we'd have lots of snow but we were too early. We did try and ski for the first time as well. We got a morning out of it and that was enough for the first day. Phil brought hula hoops up for the girls to hold while they skied...Kate did great. Mae skied without the hoop at the end. We are excited to go again.

This was our cabin...really nice.
