Well Mae has discovered her new favorite thing....Shutes and Ladders, Dora style. I got this game for her last Xmas and we tried it several times but no luck with the taking turns and understanding that you just cannot go up the shutes! So two weeks ago I dug it out again for another try and sure enough, now there has been a light bulb moment and Mae gets it. Needless to say our evenings AND mornings consist of several games of Shutes and Ladders. It's fun to watch her play. She's gotten so good at winning this game it's crazy. The good thing is that she's now learnt all her numbers and her one to one counting skills are great. The other night I was reading Kate a story before bed and Mae decided to spin for me while she waited for me to join her. So she'd spin and call out "mommy, you just went up a ladder", "mommy, you just went down a shute" etc...she played the whole game by herself! too funny.
