Kate's 5th Birthday

Nishimachi Talent Show

Mae really wanted to sing at our talent show. We were so shocked. She was the only first grader that wanted to sing. So of course she got Kate up with her. They were cute. Pretty brave with about 100 people watching.

Dinner time fun...

 Mae has just gotten a haircut...we've been growing out bangs since the summer.

 Kate had a cut too, this is a day before it...she wanted hers cut like Mae's, so scroll down to see!

 This is Mae's Japanese latest piece...she was proud to present this at her student-led conference last week. We are pretty amazed by her Japanese ability.

 Here are Kate's two pieces of art...her drawing is beginning to develop now...we can see what she's trying to do, finally! So cute. Everyday she comes home with "presents" for me.

Origami Master Sensei......

 Shihoko came to visit the girls today and did some origami with them. Kate loves it and you can see her concentration in this shot. So cute...

 This is Mae with her former babysitter Hiroko. We had a nice visit with them all today. 

Time is getting short now and we will be leaving Japan soon, so it was nice to catch up with them.

 We went out for a Mexican lunch today, we had hoped to sit out on this amazing deck but we got caught in the rain....maybe next time!

Mae's 7th Birthday

Mae's 7th birthday was last week. We made pizza and had some birthday cake with our friends. 

Mae had a great day at school and came home to a fantastic celebration. 

It's nice to have friends around again! Aisha and her family went back on Saturday after a week visiting. We all had a great time.

Kate did a great job and we were so proud of her. The lone English speaker, right up there with her peers....and did an amazing job!
